Average OrgEQ

Your organization, like most, is in the average range.

This generally indicates that some of the competencies of EI exist in your organization and there is lots of opportunity to continue to build on those skills so you are better prepared to be competitive in the face of rapid change.

Organizations in this range have a commitment to having the employee engagement, agility, and leadership competencies required in the fourth industrial revolution, but often that commitment and the plans for it are not resulting in the cultural change required to build competitive advantage. There may be pockets of collaboration, innovation, and the strategic risk-taking required, however it is not ubiquitous across the organization. Employee engagement surveys may show good results, however the types of courageous conversations and breakthrough thinking needed to truly innovate are still rarities.

To move quickly and make the changes required, the importance of Emotional Intelligence needs to be embraced across the whole organization. Like any real transformative change, it will need to start at the top. To be successful, the key competencies of Emotional Intelligence need to be incorporated into an organization’s values, its culture, and common language.
