It’s not just the adults that need to be their “Best When it Matters Most!!”

Sydney Gibson is a 6 year old little girl that made a difference in the world. When watching TV one day, Sydney saw a commercial for the unfortunate famine in Africa. Her first reaction was to tell her parents that she noticed the little girl in the commercial didn’t have shoes. It weighed on her six year old mind enough that the Gibson family took action.

Sydney’s Hope was born and spread through the community quickly. Everyone at the Institute for Health and Human Potential (IHHP) donated shoes or supported her fundraiser to help pay for shipping cost. Sydney’s school got involved and friends of her parents collected shoes from their own hometowns; which were sometimes over 100 kilometers away. Sydney made a radio appearance and made more connections through that. When the drive was over at the beginning of June, Sydney’s Hope had raised a staggering 1200 pairs of shoes! The New Hope Orphanage in Swaziland has recently received their shoes and we have seen the pictures of them trying them on. The smiles on the faces of children getting shoes for probably the first time in their lives is priceless. Seeing Sydney smile at the pictures is just as rewarding for everyone who support her on her quest for a better life for some children she never met.
