Diverse backgrounds, including a range of careers, education and life experiences, have resulted in a strong team of coaches and facilitators at the Institute for Health and Human Potential. In addition to their specific qualifications and energetic delivery styles, each facilitator and coach is thoroughly trained and accredited in Emotional Intelligence.
Our facilitators lead our clients through IHHP’s 2-day Emotional Intelligence training program, which includes:
- 360 feedback (culled from peers, managers, family and friends);
- participation exercises designed to practice new EQ competencies (such as authenticity, coaching others, self-regard and empathy); and
- personal goal setting based on the feedback received.
Our coaches then step in to offer the support, guidance and ‘ruthless accountability’ necessary for clients to implement EI tools and strategies into their personal and professional lives, and develop plans for reaching the goals set in their training program. Coaching is offered in two formats: one-on-one and group.
Contact us to discuss how your team can benefit from our highly acclaimed training and individual/group coaching programs.

| Peter Taylor – IHHP Coach |
|
|
Peter has been fascinated with the notion of emotional intelligence since he first became aware of the term in 1997. The concept tied together so many things that he had believed and experienced in his life to that point.
After exploring and learning more about emotional intelligence, Peter refocused his human resources development practice under the umbrella of ‘Developing Emotional Intelligence’. He regularly leads workshops on emotional intelligence for a wide range of clients in Canada and the United States. He has also significantly expanded his coaching practice to support those who are conscientiously working to incorporate more emotional intelligence in their daily professional and personal lives.
In addition to the application of emotional intelligence in his professional life, Peter continually finds opportunities to use the tools and techniques in dealing with his family and, in particular, with his four grandchildren. As he says, "emotional intelligence is a critical skill that can help individuals deal better with the challenges they inevitably will encounter as they go through their daily activities".
“Peter was a great coach. He was able to bring out a lot of thoughts, realizations and ideas from within me that I would not have necessarily seen or looked for on my own. I thought he had a great approach—allowing me to work through things rather than instructing or guiding me to a preset answer. “
